Dive
Into Some Tall, Cool Texan Tales.
This is Texan Holly Bea's seventh book, and this
one is a winner. Lucy, a Canada goose, is an independent thinker – she likes
doing the opposite of what was expected. When it's time to migrate, she wants
to fly on her own and beat the rest to Texas. As she braves obstacles trying
to reach her destination, she understands the value of patience and teamwork.
FUN FACT: When Ms. Bea lived away from Texas, she would
return to Lubbock every year to watch the Canada geese migration in Maxey
Park.
SPECIAL FEATURE: The pictures are so lively you can almost
see characters move and talk.

Midwest Book Review
(Oregon, WI USA)
A clever and original story by Holly Bea, Lucy Goose Goes To Texas is deftly
enhanced with the delightfully charming illustrations of Joe Boddy. This
is an entertaining picturebook tale of one Canadian goose's quest to fly south
to Texas in the fall migration, and reaching it before all of her family
and friends arrive. Young readers ages 4 to 7 will thoroughly enjoy the adventures
of this determined goose and the critters she encounters along the way as
Lucy also discovers the importance of teamwork and friendship. A popular addition
to family, school, and community library picture book collection, Lucy Goose
Goes To Texas is very highly recommended as a positive and fun read that
carries the additional bonus of an underlying theme of values building.
