Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day!
Every year, there's a special day to recognize the over 350 species of birds who migrate from North America to non-breeding grounds in South America, the Caribbean and Mexico. It is usually on the second Saturday of May, during migrating season. Here are a few ways to celebrate IMBD:
- Pay attention to the birds around you and learn more about them.
- Build and maintain a bird feeder or bird house.
- Reduce your use of pesticides in yard and garden.
- Create a display about this special day for your school or library.

Here are some questions I use in my presentations to children,
that are great “starters” for conversations about God. It's been
my experience that I learn far more about God from children than
I teach—so pay attention to their answers!
Who is God?
Does God love you?
Do you love God? Why?
Does God talk to you?
Do you talk to God?
What do you say to God?
What are some of the things God does for you?
Do you have to go someplace special in order to talk to God?
What does God want us to do?
